James "Jim" White passes away at age 67

Jim White of Horseshoe Bay passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, February 13, 2008, at his home in the presence of his family and friends. He was 67 years old.

Jim was a member of Marble Falls Church of Christ. He had a strong faith in God which was apparent in his optimistic outlook. Although diagnosed with stage four cancer and undergoing high doses of chemotherapy, his attitude remained positive and he never took to his bed. Jim truly lived life to the fullest. He was passionate about golf and was even planning on playing the morning he died. His admirable endurance and zest for life were impossible to ignore. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity, attributes he carried to the very end. His "larger than life" personality made him an unforgettable friend, treasured father, adored peepaw, and cherished husband. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Jim was a 1958 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, and attended Texas A&I on a football scholarship. He was a longtime resident of Fort Worth and the co-founder and president of Protech Coatings Inc., in Arlington.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Fred L. and Lucy White; and a brother, Fred L. White Jr.

Survivors: Wife, Paula White of Horseshoe Bay; daughter, Tammy McKie (D.J.) of Lewisville; son, Duane White of Arlington; stepchildren, Donna Miller of Austin, Dace Chamchot (Tera) of Fort Worth, Dalane Dominguez (Roy) of Burleson, and Dyke Miller of Joshua; sister, Virginia White of Houston; and 16 amazing grandchildren.
