Tim Schulz was invited to serve as a committee member by Governor
Perry for the 2011 Texas Environmental
Excellence Awards, which were held in Austin on
May 4th. The awards celebrate the bold
innovations that those individuals, communities,
businesses and organizations develop to preserve
and protect the Texas environment. Since 1993,
the program has honored the most outstanding
pollution prevention and waste reduction
projects in the State. |

The committee consisted of 16 members hand selected by the office
of the Governor and the T.C.E.Q. The committee
was asked to review the finalists in each of the
nine categories which were narrowed down from
over two hundred applicants before determining
the winners. The winning projects needed to have
taken strides towards conserving and protecting
the state’s water, reducing its waste, or
protecting the quality of its air. The
applicants showcased consisted of various age
groups, regions, economic sectors, industries
and organizations from across the state who have
made exceptional contributions. |
