The Texas Regional at the Marriott Property at Champions Circle in
North Fort Worth was a Great Success. We had very good
participation in these trying economic times. Tim
Purcell did an excellent job putting together the
Regional this year. It is a lot of work. Thank you Tim. |

Steve Reynolds, Keynote Speaker. |

Steve Reynolds, President for AFS National spoke during the
luncheon on Friday about the need to come together and get
involved in AFS Government Affairs. We must make our voice
heard. Steve also expressed the need for upper management in
companies to support AFS from the top down. It is important to
be involved. |

The speakers at the Regional were outstanding. We appreciate all of
them traveling to Texas to be a part of our Regional. Chris
Norch called a Region Three Meeting the first day of the
Regional. We had four Chapters participate, which include the
Mokan Chapter, Tri-State Chapter, St. Louis Chapter and the
Texas Chapter. Leo Baron sat in on our meeting to give support
from AFS and his staff. |

Region Three Meeting |

The Chapters shared ideas about how to increase membership. We
discussed methods to coordinate our meeting dates so the
chapters can participate in all of the chapter meetings in their
region. In addition, we discussed sharing speaker schedules to
better utilize quality speakers within each chapter. I think
everyone left with a better feel for what we can do to get more
involved and grow the region. |
