Clifford Smith receives Gordon Killman Award

Clifford Smith is a native Texas born, reared, and still living in Fort Worth.
Clifford has a BA degree from the University of North Texas and MS and Ed.D. degrees from East Texas State University.

Clifford grew up in a family owned business and is a third generation foundryman. He joined his father on a full time basis after college. After a year of teaching high school vocational education he returned to the foundry business at Midland Mfg. Co. from 1972 – 1977. Over the next nine years he served as a casting buyer and earned the C.P.M. certification.

Clifford returned to Midland Mfg. Co. in 1986 and has worked there for the last 22 years and is currently the General Manager. During this time, Clifford has served on numerous AFS committees. He is a past chairman of the Texas Chapter and at this time he is the chairman of the Texas Cast Metals Association as well as a director for the FEF
